Funding with open access agreements

Halmstad University has 18 fully prepaid publishing agreements that cover approximately 13,000 scholarly journals. Information about these agreements can be found on the University Library’s agreement pages, and you can check which journals are included through SciFree.

If you are unsure where to publish your research, you can use publishers’ Journal Finder tools, which help you identify suitable journals based on your manuscript or research topic.

Open access without publication fees

If no publishing agreement is available, researchers usually can make their publication openly accessible through self-archiving (green open access).  Information on self-archiving permissions and repository options can be found by searching for the journal in Open Policy Finder (Jisc).
A wide range of publishers offer diamond open access publishing opportunities. These include university presses, learned societies, and research centres, as well as major international publishers such as Springer Nature, Emerald, De Gruyter, and Brill. DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) is an important starting point for identifying Diamond Open Access journals.

Halmstad University researchers can also publish through the university's own publishing platform, Halmstad University Press.
