A publishing fee is charged and all articles and content are made freely available on the journal’s website immediately upon publication.

Following peer review, the author is permitted to make a version of the publication with the same scholarly content as the journal version available in an open repository.

Hybrid journals contain a mixture of subscription-based and open access content. A publishing fee is always charged.

Funding with open access agreements
Halmstad University has 18 fully prepaid publishing agreements that cover approximately 13,000 scholarly journals. Information about these agreements can be found on the University Library’s agreement pages, and you can check which journals are included through SciFree.
If you are unsure where to publish your research, you can use publishers’ Journal Finder tools, which help you identify suitable journals based on your manuscript or research topic.
Open access without publication fees
Halmstad University researchers can also publish through the university's own publishing platform, Halmstad University Press.
Vice-Chancellor´s strategic funding
