Springer Nature, Fully Open



Researchers at Halmstad University can publish Open Access free of charge in all fully Open Access journals from Springer Nature. The Article Processing Charges (APCs) are covered by a national agreement with the publisher.

About the agreement

Springer Nature Fully OA grants publishing in Springer Nature’s pure Open Access journals.
The corresponding author must be affiliated to Halmstad University and have stated Halmstad University as affiliation in the article in order to be able to publish Open Access within the agreement.

Imprints included in the agreement:

  • BioMed Central (BMC)
  • Springer Open Journals
  • Springer Nature
  • Nature Research (including Nature Communications and Scientific Reports)
  • Palgrave Macmillan

What is NOT included in the agreements?

Nature Protocols and Nature Reviews Journals does not offer Open Access publishing and are not part of the agreements.

Additional costs for page charges, colour charges etc. are not covered by the agreement.

What do I have to do?

As a researcher affiliated with HH you will be identified by the publisher when you submit your manuscript. In order to avoid paying APC you must state Halmstad University as your affiliation and use your @hh.se e-mail address.

When an article has been accepted for publication, you as a corresponding author, will receive a message from the publisher. Click on the link in the message to get to Springer Nature's website, where authors state which organization they belong to. Enter Halmstad University (note in English) and confirm. 

The library approves the publishing fee and the article is published at no cost to you as an author.

Please note there is a maximum number of Open Access articles to be published for each year of this partnership. Please be aware that this limit might therefore be reached before the end of a year.
