What is diamond OA?

Diamond OA means full and direct Open Access to both journals and books, with neither subscription fees for readers nor article processing charges (APCs) for authors. These publications are typically research-led and academically owned, with all content undergoing peer review to ensure high quality.

Which publishers publish diamond OA?

Among the publishers that publish diamond are university presses, societies, research centers, but also large publishers such as Springer, Emerald, De Gruyter and Brill. As a Halmstad University employee you can also use Halmstad University's own publisher Halmstad University Press.

Swedish diamond OA journals in English and in Swedish can be found at Publicera, the national platform for Swedish scholarly open access journals managed and developed by The National Library of Sweden (Kungliga biblioteket, KB). They currently have 45 journals.
