What is it?

Think.Check.Submit. is a checklist that through a range of tools and practical resources will help you discover what you need to know when assessing whether a publisher is suitable for your research. There are checklists for both Book & chapters and journals.

Why is it helpful?

So-called predatory publishers are publishing entities that deliberately exploit the open-access publishing model by misleading researchers and prioritizing financial gain over scholarly integrity. Think. Check. Submit is a tools that can help you determine the type and credibility of a publisher.

How does it work?

Go to the web page Think.Check.Submit. and go through the three steps:

Are you submitting your research to a trusted publisher?

How can you be sure the publisher you are considering is the right one for your research?

Do you or your colleagues know the publisher?

Can you easily identify and contact the publisher?

Is the publisher clear about the type of peer review it uses?

Are publications indexed and/or archived in dedicated services?

Is it clear what fees will be charged?

Are guidelines provided for authors on the publisher website?

Is the publisher a current member of a recognized industry initiative?
