Pensoft Publishers
Halmstad University has a Publish agreement with Pensoft Publishers, which offers approximately 60 journals in the field of natural sciences. This means that the Article Processing Charges (APCs) may be covered by the national agreement. Here we have summarized what you as a researcher need to know.

The Article Processing Charges (APCs) are covered by the national agreement with the publisher as follows:
- All articles submitted on or after 2026-01-01 are included in the agreement.
- The agreement includes all of the publishers 57 open journals. Browse journals
- All articles are published with CC-BY license.
- All article types are included.

What's not included?
- Additional charges for printed versions, such as colour figures or offprints, are not included.
Requirements to use the agreement
• Corresponding author must be affiliated with Halmstad University.
• Your Halmstad University affiliation must be stated in the published article.
• Use your Halmstad University e-mail address at all stages of the publishing process.
Author workflow
Manuscripts are managed in the publisher’s system ARPHA:
- When submitting the manuscript, corresponding authors should identify themselves as affiliated with the partner institutions by using their professional email addresses linked to these institutions.
- Authors should then select the option: ”I have a special agreement via direct contact with the journal prior to submission to receive a full or partial fee waiver for this submission” and in the field below inform the editor: ”This paper will be covered by the National Library of Sweden institutional deposit.”
- When the article has been accepted, the author will receive a notification with information about how much of the deposit has been used for the publication.
- The author and the Bibsam Consortsia representative will receive a copy of the receipt.
