Halmstad University has a Publish agreement with MDPI. This means that the Article Processing Charges (APCs) may fully be covered by the national agreement. MDPI currently publishes nearly 500 open access journals in natural sciences, medicine, technology, environmental sciences, humanities and social sciences. Here we have summarized what you as a researcher need to know.
Articles submitted on or after January 1, 2026, are fully covered by the national agreement.
Articles submitted in 2025 or earlier receive a 20 percent discount.

What’s included?
The Article Processing Charges (APCs) are covered by the national agreement with the publisher as follows:
- All articles submitted from 2026-01-01 are included in the agreement.
- All MDPI journals are included in the agreement. See journals
- All articles are published with CC-BY license.
- All article types are included.

What's not included?
- Additional charges for printed versions, such as colour figures or offprints, are not included.
Requirements to use the agreement
• Corresponding author must be affiliated with Halmstad University.
• Your Halmstad University affiliation must be stated in the published article.
• Use your Halmstad University e-mail address at all stages of the publishing process.
