SAGE
For most of the hybrid journals the article processing charges (APCs) are covered by a national agreement with the publisher. In addition, for SAGE's fully Open Access journals all journals are covered.
Agreement period
2024–2027
What's included?
If the corresponding author is active at Halmstad University or one of the other institutions that are part of the Bibsam agreement, there are no APC charges for articles accepted for publication in over 900 hybrid journals. Hybrid journals are subscription based journals where individual articles may be Open Access with a publication fee (APC).
For Gold Open Access journals - no APC charges

Workflow for authors
State the affiliation with Halmstad University and use the institutional e-mail (hh.se) address when submitting an article. The eligibility for the agreement is based on this, Halmstad University Library is not involved in the process of verifying author affiliation for this agreement.
When the article has been accepted for publication, and if you have been identified as eligible, you will receive an email with a link to Sage Open Access Portal (SOAP). Use this link and follow the steps to make your article Open Access.

Note that CC BY is the default license option for hybrid journals. Articles in the gold Open Access journals are published with CC BY-NC license until the submission management system can handle this type of articles. You can contact the publisher directly if any other type of license is preferred.
