Elsevier

Researchers at Halmstad University can publish Open Access free of charge in most of Elsevier's journals. The Article Processing Charges (APCs) are covered by a national agreement with the publisher.

Publication fee

No Open Access Article Processing Charge for corresponding authors from participating organisations for an unlimited number of articles.

Agreement period

2024–2027

Instructions for corresponding authors

Upon acceptance of an article, the corresponding author receives an email with a link to complete Elsevier’s publishing forms. By entering your affiliation with Halmstad University, the publisher will identify you as an author qualified to publish Open Access within the agreement.
The library will then approve to fund the APC and the article will be published Open Access at no cost to you. (Please note that other charges such as color figures or offprints are not covered by the agreement.)

What's included?

The agreement includes unlimited Open Access publishing, free of charge, in both fully Open Access journals and hybrid journals. Hybrid journals are subscription based journals where individual articles may be Open Access with a publication fee (APC).
The agreement allows publishing with CC-BY license (or another open license, according to the author's wishes).

What's not included?

Additional charges associated with the printed journal, such as color figures or offprints, are not included.

About the agreement

The agreement is a national so-called "Read & Publish" agreement. The APCs are already prepaid, since the agreement includes both the costs of the library's subscriptions as well as the costs of Open Access publishing.
